Beauty // Health // Skin Care: Exercise, Exercise, Exercise!

by admin ~ November 14th, 2008. Filed under: Health, body image.

So, I woke up this morning and said to myself, “Lyndsie,” I says, “it is high time you started getting fit.”  This is a huge step, because I’m laaazy.  Generally, and I’m being honest here, the most exercise I get involves turning the pages of a book or giving my fingers a hardcore work out as I write.  However, I was recently reading this book for about the millionth time, called Jemima J (and every woman out there should read it — and so should any guys who’d like a look at what women think about), and I further said to myself, I says, “Lyndsie, if JJ can do it, so can you.  You’re eating better, why not start exercising too?”  It would be incredibly easy — my fiance has one of those awesome fancy exercise machines right in the living room, not eight feet away from where I sit, on my butt, in my office.

But the first step is hard, yo, and you have to get over the pain threshold, and you can find a million excuses not to do it … so this is a call to arms.  I’m going to start exercising today.  I am going to recognize my limitations and start off slow.  I’m going to realize that I do not have to fulfill any expectations but my own.  And I’m calling to anyone else out there who doesn’t want to be stick thin, necessarily, but wants to be fit, and healthy; who, like me, just wants to get her waist back and be able to walk up a set of stairs without huffing or puffing.  Anybody with me?

Well, even if not, I’m still going to bore all y’all with the results — and the failures, and the setbacks, because venting makes it easier, I think, and I’m all about that.  So … here goes nothin’, ladies.
