Do not be afraid of bold colors. The runways and catwalk struts for this season have told us that much. You might think you could never in life carry off a green color like the one seen here if you are not a model, but this summer, you are going to get the chance to try!

However, going bold does not mean doing way too much. As always, you need to make sure your application is careful and, above all else, that it is tasteful. If you do that, there’s no reason you can’t carry off something like this.

Rather, turn toward metallic eye shadows and even eyeliners. You do not want to go crazy. This is a trend that can easily make you look like a hot shiny mess if you let it. The key is to learn to put on metallic shades correctly. Check out some tutorials if need be, or head to your local Macy’s or Saks and talk to a representative at one of the makeup counters.

The point is, glimmering metals are going to be a must for the steamy nights of the coming summer, so make sure you get an edge on the competition.

Sometimes — not all the time, but sometimes — you just have to give into your natural beauty. Throw on a little bit of bronzer if you want, or at the very least a very light, very airy concealer, foundation, or even just powder.

The point is, the raging daytime look for the spring and summer of 2009 is the natural look. You do not have to do it all of the time, but do not be afraid to do it some of the time. It will serve you well, and it will let your true beauty shine right through.

Of course, you are going to want to do a little up keep but, for the most part, skinny eyebrows are on their way out. Instead, you want to let your natural brow line grow. You do not have to go crazy, and by all means, keep battling any unibrows, but otherwise, quit worrying about it. Thicker, darker eyebrows are all the way in.

I don’t know about you, but this makes me very, very happy. I hate getting waxed, and often forget to go to up keep appointments, which means I’m stuck tweezing at home — and making myself cry in the bargain.

I’m guessing that they are probably hormone related — a little bit of hormonal acne kicking up at the worst possible time, you know. It just seems like a lot of the lotions I’ve been trying leave my face feeling greasier than it felt before, which of course makes me get more blemishes. I was at a loss, but now I’m thinking about killing two birds with one stone, with the help of Acne Complex. It deals with acne, of course, but apparently the three step line also includes a great moisturizer, which is completely oil free, but is still strong enough to take care of all those icky flakes.

If you find yourself with these same problems, you might think about giving it a try, too!

But the first step is hard, yo, and you have to get over the pain threshold, and you can find a million excuses not to do it … so this is a call to arms. I’m going to start exercising today. I am going to recognize my limitations and start off slow. I’m going to realize that I do not have to fulfill any expectations but my own. And I’m calling to anyone else out there who doesn’t want to be stick thin, necessarily, but wants to be fit, and healthy; who, like me, just wants to get her waist back and be able to walk up a set of stairs without huffing or puffing. Anybody with me?

Well, even if not, I’m still going to bore all y’all with the results — and the failures, and the setbacks, because venting makes it easier, I think, and I’m all about that. So … here goes nothin’, ladies.

I tend to suffer more from the latter, though admittedly it’s sometimes more severe than others, and I am amazing lucky in that it seems to be getting better as I get older. Still, inevitably, I always seem to get an outbreak at the worst possible time. So, I am on a crusade to find a good skin care system. We’ve all seen the late night infomercials and celebrity poptart endorsements for some of the most common names, but I find myself drawn more to Acne Complex. It covers all the bases, from cleanser to exfoliating agent to moisturizer. Plus, I’m naturally suspicious of all-for-one products. That there are three separate ones that do three separate things really impresses me.

I know one thing: the stuff that took care of these problems when I was but a humble teenager sure aren’t working now.

Lovely readers — guess what? It’s getting cold! Personally, I prefer cold weather; autumn is my favorite season, followed closely by winter. However, that same cool, crisp, stringent air that many of us love can be extremely devastating to our skin. It sucks the moisture right out of our atmosphere — and out of our pores as well.

So, it is extremely important that you take the time to moisturize during the colder months. Naturally, of course, you have to keep your face hydrated. Ideally, you want to look for a moisturizer which does not contain oil — that kind can ultimately cause your skin to break out, and no one wants that. Still, you want something intensive and effective, so it needs to be thick and creamy enough to keep your skin smooth, soft, supple, and silky.

Of course, making sure that you drink plenty of water each day can help your skin retain the essential hydration it needs to stay healthy, as well. Fresh fruits and vegetables are very beneficial as well.

Remember, though: your face isn’t all you need to moisturize. Rub that lotion everywhere. The last thing you want is to be cuddling up to someone you love, in front of the fire on a warm winter’s night … just to graze them with an ashy elbow or a rough skinned foot! So, as far as that goes, make sure that whatever you use to shave with — lotion, gel, cream, et cetera — will moisturize your skin as well.

Then go for it. The fashion this fall is all about glimmering and shimmering, so there’s no reason you shouldn’t glitter and glow as well. Pick out some glitter dusted eye shadow in a shade that will really make your eyes pop. Go with a shimmer stick of lipstick for some added shine. Buy yourself some bronzer to give your skin a glow – or, lacking that, go for a moisturizing lotion with the kind of minerals that will help make your complexion radiant. At the very least, that’ll leave you feeling brighter.
